What you need to know about cockroach bites

This is an unusual post for an entertainment but In light of hiplife musician Anamon's mysterious cockroach bite that led to his swollen manhood, i have taken it upon myself to gather some information on cockroach bites to share with others who may not know.

Cockroaches are one of the most hated of all insects and knowing that the bite humans doesn't help their case.
It is true that cockroaches can bite humans especially when they are desperate for food and water. They usually bite around the mouth and the fingers due to food residue which may be stuck in the corners of the mouth and in the fingernails.
Cockroach bites are difficult to recognize because of their similarity to other insect bites.

Symptoms like any other insect bite include bumps on the skin but may be larger. It may scab and also be painful and itchy, however it is advisable to avoid scratching as this may lead to breaking of the skin which may in turn lead to infection.

The bumps will disappear after a few days and if there is broken skin, keep it clean and covered with gauze or band aid. You can also apply calamine lotion to reduce itching.
